Claire Kelly

Claire has been the Cancer Care Coordinator / Clinical Nurse Consultant for private medical oncology patients at the Mater, South Brisbane for over 5 years and has worked in cancer and palliative care nursing for over 30 years in a range of positions. Claire was a founder member of the United Kingdom Oncology Society (UKONS) and prior to moving to Australia was named in the Royal College of Nurses Top 10 UK Cancer Nurses.  She had worked in senior management as a Director of Nursing in both cancer and palliative care for over 15 years before deciding to return to her love of patient focused supportive care. Claire is currently editor of the Clinical Oncology Nursing Society Coordinator newsletter and a peer reviewer for the Australian Journal of Cancer Nursing and European Journal of Oncology Nursing. Claire has a passion for patient-centred supportive care and improving evidence based practice in the clinical setting. She has recently led a Dignity Therapy RCT and is involved in a range of nursing research activities in her current role.
